Applied Organics, Inc. has a variety of options available to assist in flood control throughout the Northwest.  Utilizing our blower trucks, conveyer truck, FX Machine and other equipment, we are available for all your pre-flood and post-flood needs.

Pre-flood preparation includes construction of dikes and levees, stream bank stabilization, perimeter control, and water diversion. 

• Dikes and Levees - Construction of dikes and levees is completed using Filter Soxx™ filled with sand, topsoil or compost.  During installation, grass or wildflower seed can be injected into the sock ensuring quick germination and deep root growth.  Once installed, additional plants can be installed by plugging or live-staking.  We will work with your engineers and design team to ensure construction suitable for your site.
• Stream bank stabilization -   High volume streams and rivers can be protected using Filter Soxx™.  River banks that have eroded over time can be restored and stabilized using structural or non-structural living wall techniques.  One main benefit to our installation process is a continuous run of sock which provides horizontal strength across the entire length of the project.  Another benefit is the ability to both inject seed or live stake the sock. 
• Perimeter control and water diversion can be completed using Filter Soxx™ filled with sand, topsoil or compost.  Socks can be installed with our blower trucks for a low impact installation or using our FX machine powered by a skid steer.  With either installation process, your site will have a continuous sock filled with the material that best suits your needs.  Applied Organics can install a perimeter around your site much faster than traditional sand bagging and the ability to fill the sock with a variety of material allows for petroleum reduction and reduced disposal costs.

Post-flood construction includes dike and levee repair, stream bank restoration, contamination containment, and hillside re-vegetation.

• Failures in dikes and levees need immediate repair to prepare for future floods.  Applied Organics can quickly and efficiently make full repairs or work along side your team to assist in fixing failed dikes and levees.
• Stream banks which have washed away can be repaired and re-vegetated using our living wall technology.
• Contamination containment is achieved using Filter Soxx™ as perimeter control around dump sites, highly contaminated areas and storm water run-off areas.  The sock is filled with compost to provide necessary filtration of petroleum and other contaminates.

• Hillside re-vegetation can be accomplished in a number of ways based on your needs.  We provide everything from terraseeded compost blankets to vegetated reinforced waterways.
